56In the late 60’s, I was living in Quebec and the book IN GOLD WE TRUST tells about that. Life was beautiful and Montreal was a thriving city (Expo 67, Olympics, etc.), probably the most swinging city in North America. The French citizens, a vast majority of Quebec wanted to separate Quebec from Canada; turmoil started. CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Services) was put together to stop the legitimate, peaceful Separatist Movement of the French citizens of Quebec. Both CSIS and the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) used illegal criminal means to put a stop to the Separatist ambitions of Quebec (Proven by the McDonald Commission 1975-1980). The two main criminal activities performed both by the RCMP and CSIS during that period were (1) acts of terrorism, bombings, kidnappings and vandalism (2) sabotage and systematic destruction of the Montreal Stock Exchange (Montreal was the financial center of Canada and of the Quebec economy). They destroyed over 1500 Companies that were listed on that exchange during those years. The Quebec economy was devastated. Pacific Nickel Mines, my company and of which I was president of, was one of those victims (Read IN GOLD WE TRUST). All this was done to destroy the economy of Quebec and to terrorize the peaceful citizens of Quebec and to make the Separatist Movement look like terrorists and criminals. Very sad but true, as proven by the McDonald Commission (a shameful period of Canadian History).

Kelsey Merry of CSIS tried to recruit both my brother Tony and myself to be members of CSIS and work with them. The reason why they wanted us was because we were two entertainment idols and also we were well known and admired in the financial and business circles. At the age of 24, I had become the youngest president of any public company in North America (Pacific Nickel Mines). He wanted us to approach influential businessmen and propose different situation; so as to frame them so they could attack them with charges, and to find confidential information on different influential business personalities and business people of Quebec. They wanted us to become spies and agent sabotagers, ie: to commit crimes against people and our beloved Quebec.

Their recruitment campaign of us went on for almost a year. At first they offered large amounts of money, later they started to threaten us. I still remember very clearly our last meeting with Kelsey Merry of CSIS and two of his colleagues in a room at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal where we told them we wanted nothing to do with them and their criminal activities and to leave us alone and Mr. Merry telling us, “We will DESTROY you!!!” and us telling him, “Go fuck yourself!” and walking out of the room as he was screaming other threats at us in a rage.

Both CSIS and the RCMP went on a campaign to discredit both my brother and myself alleging that we were the sons of a known criminal by the name of Johnny Papalia of Hamilton, Ontario. After the last meeting with Merry both Tony and I were subjected to physical attacks, staged car accidents, slashing of tires, police raids in homes, stealing of documents and continuous harassment to the point we decided to leave Canada in fear for our lives.

They supplied this false information to Bahamas, Scotland Yard in England and other countries around the world. This campaign is still ongoing today. They caused the English legal case in 1977. Numerous other attacks and sabotages have been perpetrated against us in different parts of the world and are still being perpetrated today. Some of these attacks and sabotages were and are being done also by the Embassies of the Canadian Government at different countries around the world.

Both CSIS and the RCMP wanted and still want to absolutely stop us from developing some of the largest precious metals deposits in the world; they are using our surname “Papalia” amongst other things in order to do this.

In Canada, (Hamilton, Ontario) since the early 1900’s there was a criminal family with the same surname which has no relation whatsoever to our family. My father, Raffaele Papalia was a policeman – (carabiniere a cavallo, an elite part of the Italian carabinieri) and he died of a heart attack when I was five years old. It is important to know that there are thousands of Papalia’s. Also in Italy there are some criminals with the same surname.

My brother Tony nor I or other members of our family do NOT know these people, we are NOT related to them; we NEVER had anything to do with them, or any other criminals anywhere in the world.

Robert Papalia
